"Fehmi Agani" University in Gjakova is dedicated to creating favorable conditions for scientific research and investigative activities, aiming to support the academic staff in achieving competitive results at both national and international levels. Therefore, in order to conduct scientific and research work in accordance with the obligations arising from UFAGJ's strategic documents, research and scientific activities are organized by various stakeholders within UFAGJ.

The Council for Science, as a crucial component in carrying out research and scientific activities, established by a decision of the Senate, is responsible for reviewing and evaluating the documentation of candidates applying for financial support to publish scientific papers in international journals, pursuant to the Regulation on Research and Scientific Activity. Furthermore, it reviews and evaluates candidate documentation for financial support to participate in international scientific conferences, congresses, and symposia. Concurrently, it selects the recipient of the "Researcher of the Year" award.

Council for Science consists of:

• Vice-Rector for Research and Scientific Research;
• Coordinator for Scientific Research and Project Management;
• One representative from the academic staff for each academic unit;
• One representative from the administration (nominated by the Rector in consultation with the University Secretary);
• One representative from the Quality Assurance Office (ex-officio, non-voting).

The research and scientific work of the faculties is a priority for the future development of the university, with particular emphasis placed on increasing the number of publications in international scientific journals, training staff to draft research project proposals, establishing partnerships with other institutions, and enhancing international institutional cooperation in the field of research.

Based on the Regulation on Research and Scientific Activity, the university's academic staff is obliged to conduct scientific and investigative research in accordance with their professional capabilities and the obligations stemming from the strategic documents of "Fehmi Agani" University in Gjakova.
