What is the European Platform for School Education and why is it important for students and professors of the Faculty of Education?
The European Platform for School Education is a modern online environment that brings together the largest European community of teachers and education professionals. It serves as a meeting point for educators working in early childhood education institutions, primary and secondary schools, vocational schools, as well as in faculties that prepare future teachers.
The platform is free and offers access to tools, training, opportunities to participate in international events and professional communities. It also integrates eTwinning, the largest online community of schools in Europe.

What is eTwinning?
eTwinning is a professional community and collaboration space where teachers, students and schools work together to develop creative and intercultural projects with partners from Europe and beyond.
Through eTwinning, users can:
- collaborate on real problem-oriented teaching projects;
- exchange innovative ideas and practices in safe online environments;
- participate in professional groups and communities;
- develop digital, linguistic and professional competences.
eTwinning promotes project-based learning, creativity, digital citizenship and cultural exchange, and is currently present in 46 countries worldwide.

Since January 2024, Kosovo has officially joined the European eTwinning community. The project in Kosovo is co-financed by:
- The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation of Kosovo, and
- The European Union through the Erasmus+ programme,
while being implemented by the Erasmus+ Office in Kosovo through the National Support Office for eTwinning.
Kosovo’s involvement in eTwinning opens new doors to international exchange and represents a new development opportunity for teachers, students and educational institutions in the country.
Why is eTwinning particularly important for faculties that prepare teachers?
Participation in eTwinning offers students of the Faculty of Education the opportunity to:
- experience modern project-based teaching in practice;
- work in an interdisciplinary and collaborative manner with schools and students from different countries;
- develop the linguistic and digital skills required in 21st century teaching;
- gain international and intercultural experiences without having to travel;
- increase professional competences in project management, teamwork, pedagogical, etc.
European eTwinning Prize for Teacher Education Institutions
To recognize the work of the most active institutions in this field, the European eTwinning Prize for Teacher Education Institutions was established in 2022.
This prize aims to identify and promote institutions-faculties that:
- integrate eTwinning into the curriculum;
- implement high-quality projects with real impact;
- conduct scientific research or analysis related to digital and collaborative teaching.
This European award serves as a motivation and an opportunity for faculties to recognize and promote their role in the modernization of education and the development of young teachers.
