The Student Parliament and the Faculty of Social Sciences mark Pink October
The Student Parliament of the “Fehmi Agani” University in Gjakova, in collaboration with the Faculty of Social Sciences, organized an event themed: “Raising Awareness About a Topic That Should Not Be Kept Silent.” The event was attended by the Chair of the UFAGJ Governing Council, Majlinda Haxhikadrija; the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ferdi Kamberi; the President of the Student Parliament, Elda Gacaferi; as well as various students and other guests.
The keynote speakers were Valbona Kastrati from the NGO “Ia Vlen të Jetosh” (“Life Is Worth Living”) and Mirelinda Llapi, MSc, a nurse. The event was moderated by student Altrina Halilaj. A key message from the event was that “Pink October” should be kept in mind throughout all 365 days of the year, rather than just during a single month.
The importance of early screenings, raising awareness from a young age, and supporting one another was emphasized. “🌸 A special gesture of solidarity was the donation of hair by student Rrona Rudi to the association, as a sign of support for women facing cancer.”🌸
We extend our thanks to the speakers, the students, and all participants for their contributions and support.
Awareness is the primary step toward change…
