Rector Bunjaku welcomed the Representatives of the Project “Higher Education and Sustainable Research in Kosovo” – SHER

The representatives of the Project ‘’Higher Education and Sustainable Research in Kosovo’’ SHER’’, Mr.Aqim Ermuli and Mr. Nehat Dervishi payed a visit at the University ‘’Fehmi Agani’’ Gjakove, wherein they were welcomed by the Rector of the University, Prof.Ass.Dr.Drilon Bunjaku, accompanied also by the Vice-Rector for Teaching and Students’ Affairs, Prof.Ass.Dr. Dafinë Kaçuri, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Projects, Prof.Ass.Dr. Nazli Tyfekçi, and Vice-Rector for Research and Scientific Work, Academic Development and Quality Increase, Prof. Ass.Dr. Arben Boshnjaku.

The purpose of the visit was the presentation of the Project SHER, as well as the strengthening of collaboration with the University ‘’Fehmi Agani’’ in Gjakova. Rector Bunjaku addressed some important requirements for the current needs of the University, including the change of the Statute, change of the Strategic Plan of the University, the harmonization of accompanying documents which are related to the improvement of the academic structure, strengthening of the international collaborations, the capacity increase for scientific research, and other issues related to quality increase and advancement of the UFAGJ.

From SHER it was said that the main aims of this project consist of the creation of a sustainable basis for scientific research, and the development of research capacities in accordance with the priorities of the University, funding of HEIs based on performance etc.

Todays’ discussions are expected to soon be made concrete by means of an agreement which will contribute in the future of the University. SHER program is launched by MESTI in collaboration with the Austrian Agency for Development (AAD).
