Prof. Dr. Behxhet Gaxhiqi is Vice-Rector for Academic Development and Quality Enhancement at the “Fehmi Agani” University in Gjakova and a Full Professor at the Faculty of Education of the same university. He has extensive academic and professional experience in higher education.

Prof. Dr. Behxhet Gaxhiqi completed his studies at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Prishtina, where he obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in the Department of Pedagogy. He subsequently completed his doctoral studies at the University of Tirana in 2014, in the field of social sciences.

He began his academic career in 2009 at the “Hasan Prishtina” University of Prishtina, at the Faculty of Education, where he was engaged as a lecturer in pedagogical subjects at the Faculty of Education centers in Prishtina, Prizren, and Gjakova.

Since 2015, Prof. Dr. Behxhet Gaxhiqi has been a permanent member of the Faculty of Education in Gjakova. As part of his institutional engagement, he has held a number of important leadership positions at the “Fehmi Agani” University in Gjakova, including: Head of the Primary Education Program at the Faculty of Education; Vice-Dean for Teaching Affairs at the Faculty of Education of the University of Gjakova; Vice-Rector for Budget, Finance and Infrastructure at the “Fehmi Agani” University in Gjakova; Head of the Didactic Center for Excellence in Teaching (QDPM); and member of the University Senate as a representative of the academic staff. He has also served as a member of the Governing Council of the “Fehmi Agani” University in Gjakova for two terms and as a member of numerous working groups within the University and its academic units.

He has been recognized with an award for outstanding teaching performance as a professor during a three-year period, based on the Academic Staff Performance Report prepared by the Office for Quality Assurance and the Central Quality Assurance Commission (2024). He has also received recognition from the Student Parliament and the Student Council of the Faculty of Education for his contribution to cooperation with students.

He has also been engaged as a professor at the University of Prizren “Ukshin Hoti,” Faculty of Education, and at “Haxhi Zeka” University in Peja, Faculty of Arts. He is also one of the initiators and founders of the Faculty of Social Sciences and has been responsible for the academic program since the establishment of the Faculty.

Prof. Dr. Behxhet Gaxhiqi has published scientific papers in renowned international journals and has contributed to national and international monographs. He is the author of several university textbooks, monographs, and teaching materials in the fields of education and social sciences. He has participated in and presented at renowned educational conferences in England, Copenhagen, Germany, Thessaloniki, Turkey, Tirana, and elsewhere. He is also a certified trainer in pedagogical topics related to contemporary teaching.

His main areas of scientific interest include pedagogy, didactics, teaching methodology, curriculum development, technology in education, inclusive education, and social policies. He has completed numerous professional training programs related to teaching and management, all accredited and conducted both domestically and abroad.

Furthermore, he has participated in several international projects at the Faculty and University level and is currently part of the WB EDU4MIGRATION Erasmus+ project.

Currently, in his capacity as Vice-Rector for Academic Development and Quality Enhancement, he leads processes related to the development of academic policies, quality assurance, accreditation, the development of study programs, and the advancement of higher education standards at the “Fehmi Agani” University in Gjakova.
